| Our Purpose: Disciples making disciples for God's glory and our joy |
Church Leadership
Cedar Grove Baptist Church is a congregational church led by elders. We seek to honor the offices of elders and deacons in the church body. We also have a Senior Pastor, Gregory C. Cochran, who has served at Cedar Grove since August 2001. His primary responsibilities include teaching, shepherding, and visionary leadership. You can find out more about Dr. Cochran at his blog or at his article writing website.
Statement of Purpose
As a church body, we believe that we are disciples making disciples for God's glory and our joy. Simply put, this provides us with 2 purposes in life: Worship and Work. (Yet, even our work is worship.)
Our Worship
We believe 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God," teaches us that all of life is worship. Everything we do is an act of worship before God. We strive to make all we do glorify God and bring us joy. In drinking coffee, for example, we began roasting and drinking our own Kerusso coffee so that each cup and each bag would remind us of God's glory in coffee, in the global church, and in the unreached world. We worship in 2 Ways:
Individual Worship
Daily Bible Reading and Bible Study
Daily Prayer
Daily Devotions with family
Daily Conversations about Christ
Routine Study of theology and Christian living.
Corporate Worship
Corporate Bible Study
Corporate singing (hymns, songs, spiritual song)
